License Suspended

Drivers License Suspended!

If you are suffering through having your drivers license suspended, then you need to understand a few simple facts.

Fact 1 – Every state in the country has some way to know that your license is suspended in your home state. You can not get a license in any other state to avoid your suspension time.

Fact 2 – What happened to your buddy or his cousin has no bearing on what is happening to you and your license being suspended. That guy that told you he only served a month of suspension time for 3 DUI’s and hitting a bus full of children is either lying to you or they are so drunk, they don’t remember the truth.

Fact 3 – Drinking and driving is not the most suspension you can get for a violation in most states. There are violations that will have your license suspended longer.

Fact 4 – NO! The poliice officer did not do you a favor because they didn’t take your car. That saved them a ton of paperwork and time. They also didn’t really expect you to schedule a hearing to get the ticket thrown out because the officer was such a nice person. Things don’t work that way. Once your in court for that driving with a suspended license, it’s the judges call with the officer…and they’re never as nice!

Fact 5 -Driving under suspension can be worse than a DUI charge, and is much worse than speeding tickets. In Pennsylvania a convection for driving undersuspension will result in at least a year of suspension time being added to your driving record, in addition to any other violations you might receive.

Fact 6 – The Pennsylvania points system can be complex, and there is no way to get your total points on a report. You must call PennDOT to have your points calculated. You will have three points removed per year of safe driving. You may have your record reset with 5 points after getting your license restored from having it suspended.
